Age suitability

Pickable is rated 13+. It's a planning tool for foraging wild mushrooms in British Columbia: maps of wildfire burns, forest habitat, weather and land access, plus trip recording and Back to car.

What's in the app

• No chat and no public posts. Users can't message each other, and nothing a user records is shown to other users. A trip plan or a spot is shared only when the user chooses to send it themselves, through the phone's own share sheet or text messages.
• No accounts and no ads. Trips, finds, photos and saved spots stay on the phone.
• Location is used to show distances and to record a trip the user starts. It isn't sold or shared with other users. See the Privacy Policy.
• Purchases: Pickable Pro is an optional monthly or yearly subscription, bought through Google Play or the App Store. Their family and purchase-approval settings apply. Safety tools are never behind the subscription.
• No violence, sexual content, gambling or profanity.

Why 13+

Foraging means remote back roads, burned forest with falling trees, no cell signal, and wild mushrooms, some of which are poisonous. Pickable never says a mushroom is safe to eat. We recommend that anyone under 18 forages with an adult.

If someone may have eaten a poisonous mushroom, call BC Drug and Poison Information Centre at 1-800-567-8911, or 911 in an emergency.
